The year 2000-s is highlighted as the progress period and the awakening of ICT (Information Communication Technology) totally. During the years before ones , some of them possibly, only listened several words, such as Laptop, Infocus, Internet, Lcd (laser crystal dish), LAN (Local Area Network), Mouse, CPU (Central Process Unit), Blogspot, E-mail, Hacker, Modem, etc. But nowadays these words enrich the generation’s vocabulary. The emerge of the recent ICT products are welcomed enthusiastically by the young persons- students, teenagers and ones with high spirit, but they are welcome, possibly, by the senior ages one- such teachers, parents and ones with relaxed oriented.
It is normal to see that more students carry the ICT products along. They are with phone-cell, MP3, digital camera, and then rush their document in laptop and using their time through internet. Phenomenon that the young generation may be richer in information, science and technology, and the old ones are caught in static and knowledge crystallized- they undergo technology experience deteriorated. Person with ICT business minded welcome generation’s interest- where they know students and teenagers love internet. Then there are a lot of warnet- warung internets or café net in blooming. They fulfill the dream of internet user to roam in the invisible world.
As mentioned above students are the greedy of technology users- they chase internets and others ICT counters for having information, education and for fun or entertainment. From grand tour observation that there have been a lot of warnet or café net opened in small towns to the cities or metropolitans. These place have been the favorites for then to be visited. Several hours in morning- it is around 7.30 am- to 2.30 pm are the periods for them to stay at school. They have to interact with academic- following the process of teaching and learning under the guidance of school teachers. Nevertheless some warnets or café nets are still crowded by students and what did they do?
The present of internet- through school computer lab, house, to warnets or café net give impact toward students. As the general phenomena that there two forms of impacts, they are positive and negative. Through internet ones can have easy things to do, they may send message- instead of sending the postal letter- by using e-mail to whomever (friends, relative, school, company. Public figure and new person) in few minutes through world wide cheaply and fast). There are a lot of internet features can be used, they are film or clip tube, MSM, browsing machine, educational and information portal, and entertainment portal. Again internet-can be viewed- has a lot of positive impact and in contra, it also has a lot of negative impact for the misusing it.
Positive impact will be felt directly by ones who need the promptly information. Internet- as world wide web- connects each other with all nets in the world provides the internet users thousands or million information to be accessed at once in few second. Job seekers will be able to search a lot of job opportunities, students will be helpful to complete school work or home work. The lonely one may have friends, partnerships or soul mate through friendship site, for this thing he or she may visit www.studentsoftheworld.info . One may have personal site to save his or her writing, diary, personal experience through certain features such as blogspot, wordpress, multiply, etc. Again the internet users may exchange ideas through e-mail and contribute their ideas through other’s shouting box or personal web.
The present of internet make students or the users as the civilized world citizen. It gives the personal self-confident for the users. Internet will make generation more mature by cognitive, affective and skill or psychomotor. Furthermore internet is able to help the students or its user to have multiple intelligent.
Ones may be not satisfied with the present of internet. It also has a lot of negative impact. Why schools are abandoned and internets are rushed by students? Why the computers set with internets connection have to be placed in the high wall box in warnets or café net. There are a lot of game facilities available inside. It is more interesting than teaching and learning process, that some students are willing to do truancy and spend time and money for internet games.
There are a lot of pre age internet user peep and consume the pornography pictures- the vulgar. By using a single flash disk, insert it through CPU, he or she may download the dirty clip or film from pornography portal or tube. This enables to wash mind of the innocent students. The sexual harassment in public may contributed by the present of internet booming. Through World Wide Web, others may upload the racist, social and religious issue, this will be potential to bear the social class or public riot.
The present of internet may give bad and good impact. The good impact can be regarded as the technology blessing. It also has a lot of negative impact. The internet users should be wise for these. Parents, teachers, public stake holders, government and the internet industry holder must show their great attention and responsibility. Please set a lot of warnet or café net, never install the high box to help the students to abandon their school or consume the hardness and pornography. Please put the phrase on the wall- say no to pornography site or warning not to access the pornography sites.
